Mission

The Egyptian Society for Blood Services is registered with the Directorate of Social Affairs in Giza under No. 1416 of 1998 in accordance with the provisions of Law 84 of 2002 regarding associations and private institutions. We coordinate, cooperate and integrate with governmental and non-governmental agencies and bodies inside and outside Egypt working in the fields of blood diseases and provision of safe blood to all in need. ESBS is stimulating and help blood centers to recruit blood donors and increase rate of blood donations. ESBS also supports research in blood transfusion services in cooperation with blood centers, increase knowledge of blood transfusion workers through education.

Vision

The group of founders of Egyptian Society of Blood Services (ESBS) who were interested in working in the field of blood services met when the visions and goals of those responsible for it were united in the belief in the necessity of cooperation in order to work to provide safe blood to patients in need. The society works on conducting research in the field of blood

Strategy

The association works to implement the following activities

1 - Encouraging and motivating honorary blood donation in cooperation with governmental and private blood banks operating in Giza Governorate through parties, bulletins, media seminars, and blood collection after the approval of the relevant administrative authorities and obtaining the necessary licenses. 2 - Taking care of blood donors and providing them with the necessary assistance, after preparing an internal bylaw approved by the competent administrative authorities. 3 - Organizing internal recreational trips for blood donors and Hajj and Umrah trips for members in accordance with what is determined by the association’s bylaws. 4 - Establishing health centers and blood banks to care and serve patients with blood diseases, after obtaining the necessary licenses from the competent authorities

5 - Working to provide blood and its components to patients and those in need at nominal prices, with the possibility of providing the needs of poor patients for blood and its components at the association’s expense, as much as possible within the limits of its available capabilities and financial resources. 6 - Contributing to scientific research in the fields of blood transfusion and blood diseases, conducting studies and organizing Seminars, conferences and scientific courses in the same field and participation in external or internal international conferences in the fields of blood transfusion and blood diseases after the approval of administrative authorities. 7 - Issuing scientific and medical bulletins and magazines specialized in the fields of blood transfusion and blood diseases, periodically or non-periodically, after the approval of the relevant authorities. 8 - Organizing campaigns. Blood collection in cooperation with blood banks licensed to collect blood.

9 - Establishing scientific divisions in the fields of blood diseases and immunity 5/12/245 10 - Collecting excess and available medicines, especially in the field of blood and immunity diseases, and redistributing them to sick members and their families through a specialized doctor. -11- Concluding agreements, protocols, memorandums of understanding, and exchanging visits with (governmental and private associations, international, Arab, and African blood transfusion centers working in the field of blood transfusion, companies, medical laboratories, schools, hospitals, pharmacies, etc.) to implement the purposes of the association. 12- Exchanging delegations and visits to strengthen relations with other countries.
